You’ve heard about AI writing emails, answering questions, and doing all sorts of things on a computer. But what if you’d rather pick up the phone?
That’s how Kinly works. It’s an AI companion and helper for seniors you can talk to on an ordinary phone, including a landline. It calls to chat, remembers things you tell it, and can help arrange a ride.
Kinly is free to use. If it books something for you, such as an Uber or Lyft, you pay what the business charges.
Start with something you actually need.
Say you want to get to the grocery store but you aren’t driving. Once you’re set up, you can call Kinly and explain where you need to go.
It works through the details and arranges an Uber or Lyft. Kinly tells you which car is coming and when, and stays on the line until you’re in the car. If the driver calls, it handles that conversation.
You make the request in your own words. There’s no booking screen to navigate, and you don’t need to learn special commands before starting.
You can also just talk.
Not every call needs an errand attached. You might talk about what you’re making for dinner, a team you follow, or the place where you grew up.
Kinly can remember details from previous conversations, which gives a later call something to pick up on. Mention an interest or a story, and you don’t always have to begin from the beginning next time.
It’s an AI, and it tells you so. You can ask it a question, explain something, or change the subject much as you would during an ordinary phone conversation.
Here’s how you get started.
Sign up for yourself, or ask someone in your family to help with the setup. Kinly calls to introduce itself, explains what it can do, and asks whether you want it to keep calling.
For rides, you call when you’re ready to go. Advance reservations aren’t available yet, and rides depend on Uber or Lyft availability where you are. The ride fare still applies.
If you’re curious about AI but haven’t found a reason to try it, this is a practical place to start: a phone call, a conversation, and help arranging your next outing.
